Starting a meditation practice can seem daunting, and you’ll probably have some questions.
Mindfulness meditation isn’t about clearing the mind of thoughts. Instead we practice observing the contents of our mind and gaining a new perspective of our experience. First we begin training the mind to focus and settle on the breath before turning our gaze inward to become more familiar with our thoughts and emotions. In the process we gain a little more space between our experience and our reactions, discovering how much choice we have over how we relate to our minds and our lives.
I offer Mindfulness Meditation Training to those just beginning their journey, as well as ongoing mentoring for anyone who already has a meditation practice, but want some guidance along the way.
I ask that you pay what you can for sessions, but recommend $25 for 30 minutes. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Sessions will be conducted over Zoom or, when feasible, in person if you prefer, within central Alabama.
